28 April 2025. Our Green Bicycle Planter is now all ready for its summer planting. We have planned a great location for it so when the summer plants go in keep an eye out for it.
Meanwhile our Blue Bicycle Planter looked a bit sorry for itself so this has gone in for some TLC and a shocking new colour. We think you will locate this one ok.
1st April 2025. Robbie has made a palatial bug hutch for the cemetery to encourage the pollinators and insects.
28th March 2025. This morning we had a working party to unwrap the planters and plant the shrubs and grasses provided by the Council. As there weren’t loads of plants we added some rescued from elsewhere. They were given a good water and I am sure that once the plants settle in and start growing they will fill out and look lovely. Many thanks to our volunteers and committee members for your had work this morning.
17th March 2025. A Basildon Council initiative to Green up the Basildon Borough saw us offered five new Round Planters and Plants.
As we had three old wooden planters in Market Lane that were in poor condition and generally did not do very well there, we decided to remove them as part of this offer. The large wooden L shaped Planter as Cossons was relocated by two of the volunteers to the side of Cossons to add a bit of colour to the short section of pavement by the crossing. This Planter has been repainted ready for replanting.

SUMMER 2024
This year was our first Tiered planter display, and from the comments we received it was a great success. We are hoping for a second planter for 2025.
February 2025. This is a before picture of one of our 2025 projects. It will be converted into a planter similar to our existing bicycle, and be located at an as yet undisclosed location. After pictures will follow so check back to see progress.
